Andrea + Edgar 2k25

Some love stories start with a grand gesture, others with a fateful coincidence, some even with Tinder. Ours? Ours started in a Facebook group chat, thanks to our mutual friend Juan, who somehow just knew.

It was June 2019—Andrea was spending the summer in Mexico City for an internship, and Edgar had been living there for years. Juan suggested we meet, and the moment we did, we clicked. We spent the next 24 hours together, completely unable to stop talking, wanting to know more and more about each other. We were inseparable from that moment on. We danced. We baked cookies. We traveled across Mexico. We did the fun, the mundane, and everything in between. And somehow, in between all that, we spent the entire summer joking about our wedding. Because deep down, we knew—this was something special.

But summer doesn’t last forever, and as it came to an end, neither of us could imagine going back to life before each other. So, in a moment that perfectly captured how much we meant to each other (and maybe also how much tequila we had that night), we got matching tattoos. Then we said goodbye, thinking maybe this was just a summer love.

Spoiler: It wasn’t.

We couldn’t stop talking. Not for a day. Not for an hour. Not at all. Our messages turned into daily check-ins, which turned into “I love you”s, and by December 2019, we decided—distance didn’t matter. This was real, and we were going to coordinate our lives around the other and make it work.

Then, three months later, the world shut down. And just like that, our long-distance relationship became a live-in one. Quarantine, a law degree, and a master's degree later, we are still here—laughing, growing, and now, ready to get married! (In case anyone is curious about the proposal-- Edgar proposed to Andrea on their front porch, in the company of their two cats Lola and Lewis on the anniversary of the day we got our tattoos, August 16, 2024. Andrea said yes. And we couldn't stop smiling for 24 hours.)

We can’t wait to celebrate this next chapter with all of you. Bring your best dance moves, your best appetite, and, if you’re feeling sentimental, maybe an extra tissue or two.

¡Nos vemos en noviembre!
